Having been through at least 20 different "weed eaters" in the past ...nearly every brand you can name, I bought a 4 cycle string trimmer, by Troy, from Lowe's in Mobile Alabama. It was the only one I ever had that was dependable, would start withouy a long daily workout of pulling on the starter.It never missed a lick! I moved back to Texas and the damn thing won't run more than 2 minutes at a time. Yes, I have done what ever you are thinking, having also been through at least 50 other small engines, mostly by Briggs & Stratten (that never worked for me), and have spent a small fortune on repairs ... I am evidenty headed that way now, that is why I am on the internet looking for a trouble shooter... Troy makes good stuff ... I have also had a Troy Tiller (5hp and a small one for the flower beds) a cycle bar mower, a generator, etc. Your problem is probably not Troy. I have always believed that it does not matter what company name is over the door ... problems are the individual people you have to deal with at the repair or sales man level. No need to reply to this as I will probably not ever be back this way again. Have you tried Round-Up? Nice to meet you, though.
