Read it again, fuzzball. Oxygen is lost through the leaves as it is available in excess, but only produced during photosynthesis. Plants actually absorb oxygen at night (when photosynthesis is NOT taking place).The amount of oxygen produced is far greater than that requird for respiration thus it diffuses out from the leaf at the stomata.
