All you've got is a minor typo. I know all about homonyms, but got this one wrong once (and got it correct in the example I cited). In fact, I have a degree in English (and another one in German). What you don't understand is you're attacking style and not substance. You've said absolutely nothing that addresses the content of my post. All you did was nit pick. You're being pedantic. I used to edit books for a publisher. One thing was true of every single author, even the very good ones. Every single one made occasional errors with spelling, grammar, or punctuation. It was my job to fix those, and I did it well. These minor errors didn't make the author stupid or his book not worth publishing. That you think a single error automatically invalidates the content shows that you are the one with a fundamental misunderstanding of language. It was also true that it's a lot easier to find someone else's typos than your own, which is why authors never copyedit their own books. It's true that if we received a manuscript that was littered with errors, it might be cause for concern. Perhaps the author is sloppy with his work. However, an occasional typo was never good cause to throw out an author's ideas. You found a single minor error. So what?
