Will this influence who you vote for? Cindy says that she is "very proud". Michelle says that she is "really proud". The controversy in the news is over which wife was proud first and who is more proud now. Talk show hosts and political pundits are actually debating this as a serious issue.
From CNN: As Cindy McCain introduced her husband at a campaign event, she told the crowd "I am proud of my country. I don't know about you, if you heard those words earlier -- I am very proud of my country."
The comment seemed to be a response to a remark from Michelle Obama the day before. On Monday, she told a Wisconsin audience that "For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country, because it feels like hope is making a comeback ..." (My comment, if she is "really" proud now, could that mean that maybe she was only "sort of" proud before?)
