I glimpsed a few headlines that said Pakistan officials are saying Al Quaida was behind it. I'm going to wait and see. Regardless of who it turns out to have done it, it disgusts me to the core. The words of that Buffalo Springfield song ring as true today as they did in the 60s: "Nobody's right if everyone's wrong." Al Quaida murders innocent people, and so Bush thinks the appropriate response is for us to also murder innocent people. Then Al Quaida murders more innocent people in response and we do the same. Innocent people everywhere will keep dying and living in fear until we think of a better response.
