I have no problem with law enforcement monitoring my speed--they are also welcome to my telephone and email communications.
Law enforcement can stay the he11 OUT of my telephone and e-mail communications. I'm very surprised you're okay with the police invading your privacy like that. To that kind of gestapoesque surveillance, I say NO WAY! Not without a warrant issued based on reasonable suspicion that a crime has been committed. It's not because I'm conspiring to committ crimes via e-mail and telephone; it's because my life is private.
I am okay with law enforcement checking my speed. I'm just not okay with their using automatons that automatically issue a ticket. I'm even okay with automaton monitoring that doesn't issue tickets. In other words, if the police want to set up sensors that report back data about how fast people drive on a particular road, no problem, as long as those devices don't automatically issue tickets. They can get the data about which roads people speed on a lot; then it's up to them to catch the speeders with real police officers, not mindless automaton cameras.
