On the night of December 11, that trio was ready to bar the recount because the Florida Supreme Court had created “new law.” A day later, they agreed to bar the recount because the Florida Supreme Court had not created “new law,” the establishment of precise statewide recount standards.

It could not be more obvious that the court decided in advance the result they wanted and then tried to find some excuse to make that happen. That turns justice on its head. The court justices are sworn to objectively evaluate the evidence and rule based on that, regardless of personal bias. They didn't deliver anything that even remotely resembled justice. What they did was assist Bush in his coup d'état.

And the results has been the disastrous Bush presidency. Thanks a lot, Supreme Court.
