Right now we have the ability to get faaaar better milage using diesel if you want to burn carbon (there is a mechanic doing conversions right now to get close to 100 mpg on big cars with lots of power)

I would rather see us going to hydrogen. It would be easier to convert the cars already on the road and wouldn't be spewing CO2 at all.

Of course there are questions to be asked about that much water-vapor being put into the air, I don't know if that has ever been modeled.
