Nancy Pelosi has had an uphill battle with the likes of John Dingell on vehicle fuel efficiency standards. However, they did agree on 35 mpg by 2020, far too little, and too late to prevent possibly irreversible global warming.

We need a program similar to the Manhattan Project to get us off fossil fuels in the next 10 years. I don't see that happening; at least not yet.

Hopefully, the rest of the world would follow our lead, and we'd make a ton of money selling them the technology to pull it off.
