The United States does not do cruel and unusual punishment, or at least we're not supposed to, though that criminal in the Whitehouse obviously thinks we should. It's in the Constitution in black and white. This principle was agreed to be adhered to not just for criminals within the US, but also for prisoners or war. We and many other nations agreed to this in the Geneva Convention. Of course, you don't care about keeping our word. You'd rather use a euphemism for POW, and "enemy combatant" as an attempt to weasel out of what we've agreed to. Even if we hadn't agreed to it, cruel and unusual punishment is morally wrong and we should choose not to exercise it if we have an ounce of moral fiber. Of course, you're view of what is moral is different from mine. I think it's an atrocity to torture people. You think it's an atrocity if people have tattoos and play rock music.
