Subject:	Women's Rights in Islam: Wife Beating

Some of these rationalizations remind me of the rationalizations of beating children in public schools in the United States. Both wife beating in Muslim countries and child beating in the United States should be illegal. It's appalling that this kind of violence is permitted.
