They're really scramblin'. They can't rely of Rush Limbaugh for their talking points anymore. They have to actually sit down and read the IPCC report, or prove themselves to be fools.

Not to worry though. Al Gore is due to release a new book soon on how to combat anthropogenic global warming. I hope this time he mentions animal agriculture. I have to go back and see if he stressed CFCs, HCFCs, and other greenhouse gases that a real problem.

But we don't have to wait for that book. Anyone who's been reading the science literature already knows what we have to do. One of the main problems is getting the production of solar panels and wind turbines up. Then there are the really promising lithium-ion powered electric cars, which could be recharged off your solar panels or wind turbine, or the power companies wave power generator, etc.

Home owners could take a huge chunk out of their greenhouse gas emissions by buying high efficiency furnaces, having their houses fully insulated, putting in high eff. windows, wearing thermal underwear and a quilted shirt, and turning the stat down in the winter. They could use fans on all but the very hottest days in the summer, and leave the AC units off.

Commuters could use public transport, car pool, ride a bike, or walk.

Going vegan reduces one's CO2 emissions more than switching from a standard car to a hybrid.

If everybody just used compact fluorescents instead of incandescents, we could shut many coal fired power plants down.

And the list goes on.
