Gwynne Dyer wrote a very interesting column in yesterday's Toledo Blade, with the subject title. Unfortunately, one cannot access it on the paper's website. Maybe it appeared in your local newspaper, or will be available via google in a few days.

Here's his last paragraph: "I have written tens of thousands of words on the Bush Administration's motives for invading Iraq, but in the end I do not know why they did it. I suspect that they don't, either. It just seemed like a neat idea at the time".
