I have resided in five countries outside the USA, and have visited 139 other countries on short stays. I always had the proper documentation for the country I visited, and the type of stay I intended to make. I had a business visa for a project in Mexico, as I stayed there a total of three months for business purposes. I worked there, but I was not compensated there. I was a permanent immigrant in Argentina and Brazil, as that visa was the most convenient way to do it. IF I HAD EVER VIOLATED THE IMMIGRATION LAWS AND REGULATION IN ANY OF THESE COUNTRIES, I WOULD HAVE BEEN DEPORTED AFTER BEING JAILED. My employer would have been very embarrased as I represented the company to our customers and the governments of those countries. Mexico does not allow illegal immigrants, and deports them "fast" and without ceremony. Had I asked that my children be educated in the English language, they would have laughed at me and explained private schools. Had I been ill, I need not have expected free treatment. Had I been unkind to my hosts, I would have been criticized. Had I needed an attorney in the courts, I need not have expected an English-speaking attorney be assigned to my case on a pro-bono status. There were draconian policies established against me in Libya because of my nationality ( I was not allowed to assemble in groups of 10 or more in private residences.) In Brazil, along with Brazilian citizens, I lived in a military dictatorship ( a benign dictatorship), and was restricted as were Brazilian citizens.

Entering a country as an immigrant can only be done through legal processes. The USA is a rich country, owing to immigrant participation. I insist that particularly in respect to immigranst who go the extra mile and immigrate legally, NO ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS BE TOLERATED. If, for humanitarian purposes, immigrants are given amnesty, they must pay a fee of at least $10,000.00 per immigrant. Unfair? These cats pay agents $8,000.00 to have an agent sneak them across the border. As for the home countries who aid illegal entry into the USA of their citizens, monetary sanctions must be imposed upon those governments.
