Making China follw the same requirements that U.S. manufacturers do would not cause inflation, it would cause a correction. U.S. citizens would/could choose U.S. products over Chinese and money would then stay in U.S. borders which would allow wages to adjust to the levels they should be at. Many services and utilities have continued to climb in price while goods have not. This has led to the perception that medical care and gasoline has increased in price, but they haven't. Other products have been kept artificially low by using virtual slave labor. Once you fix the discrepency, the economy will stabilize after a period of (probably painful) adjustment. Inflation is a boogey-man catch word that corporate lap dogs foist on the U.S. population to keep their profits artificially high.
