Well, there's no way to keep from sinning apart from being in Christ. So, when He says, "sin no more".... it's a blessing from heaven, really, not some rule that we have to go out all by ourselves to wrestle with. It's His love that transforms us so that we can walk in the victory from sin. Wow, to be touched by Him with that blessing!!! And if we ARE touched by Him and transformed, then we can touch others likewise. I've heard it said that the law is the way you treat people that you don't love (be it others or yourself). Paul says that love fulfills the whole law. And of course, Jesus said that He came to fulfill the law. If we aren't really touched by Jesus, then it's real hard to love others and follow Jesus, so I suppose that's why angry, fearful and controlling people feel obligated to thrash others with the law and the rules.
