Liberal Christians send more people to hell than nonbelievers. You forgive any kind of behavior except what you wrongly think is the ultimate sin: being too judgmental. People need to be convicted of sin and to repent.
Jesus died for ALL sins.
I can tell you, when I was an unbeliever, it wasn't the hateful words of judgment and condemnation from the "Christians" that wooed me into a deep relationship with Jesus. In fact, they kept me away for a long time. Unfortunately, after I did join the "club" I ended up being a "religious" rule keeper, turning my back on His grace a while. So, I've been there, but have repented.
You will note that Jesus didn't say to the adulterous woman, the woman at the well, or any of the sinners that he forgave, healed and loved, "jump through these hoops, grovel and call yourself a worm" and then I will, after a time, consider letting you into the Kingdom of heaven. He gave them the free living water. He brought the kingdom to them, and when they experienced it, they followed Him. Who wouldn't!!!
Who in their right mind would want to follow a Jesus like many of the big mouthed religions with the threats and condemnation speeches spout. He died, suffered and paid the price for our sins. He didn't say, you gotta follow all these rules first and then you will earn it.
