I did make it back. I took a little web-break. I like the Get Out of the Pit book - although I must admit that I haven't read it over the last few days. We've been running too much. But, we have also begun a spending fast - and should have long before I bought that book! LOL But, then, how would I have known how to get out of the spending pit? Haha

I will read that article - I just skimmed over it the other day. Can we post it here so that I can answer and maybe soooooooright will too?

We will be keeping babies soon. I have two nieces who each have a little boy and are each expecting another little boy within a week of each other. So, for the next several weeks - beginning Tues - I'll be offline quite a bit. I'm also trying to get the house ready for the boys entertainment. One is two years old and the other is one and a half.

I'm glad your bones are doing well. We were taking karate as a family several years ago and even though I was the worst student, it at least toned me. I wish we were back in it but he doesn't teach anymore and we'd have to drive much further to take it elsewhere. He might start up again one day, I hope.

Instead of an iPod, I've been more interested in the satellite radio - I can't remember right now what you call it, sorry -- I'll bet you know! LOL But, I really don't want a monthly bill for it. Otherwise, I'm just about technologied out. I've started feeling like my grandmother when the microwave came out. It's just enough already! My daughter disagrees.

I remember years ago when civil discussion was what happened on these boards. At the controversial issues board on the Homeschoolers site, we used to be able to discuss and ask questions and learn from one another. But, the day that it became popular to scream terms like unpatriotic, unamerican, and unchristian just for asking a question, it blew my mind. I, seriously, blame it on PNAC and the Limbaughs of the world. It should have been ok to ask "why" before we went into Iraq and then the discussion should have gone into the reasons for and against ("everyone" was NOT 'for' going in as they like to say today - I remember their evidence and speeches being debunked as soon as they were given). But, the mere question "why?" sent on into unpatriotic land and it was frustrating and hurt many friendships over time. I remember when I decided to speak more boldly and call a lie a lie -- it was during the 2004 RNC convention. As I watched it, and could identify the lies myself as they were spoken, I started speaking up more and being more direct.

A good example from today is that everyone wants Boxer to apologize for speaking honestly to Rice about neither of them having immediate family in the war. Apologize? It's true. Why didn't Bush and Cheney apologize when they, before the 06 elections, said that a vote for a Dem would be embolding terrorists? Is that not much worse? Yes, it is.

I don't believe "they did it first" is a good reason for direct and bold conversation but they are worse (in my own experiences - as you know, I post very little in The Pub) in their claims. Pelosi's shawl drew much attention when she visited the White House but her messages are unheard. Cheney's claim that people take vacation in Iraq (before the election) and then retracting it after the election drew very little attention or outrage but, man, did Pelosi's shawl cause controversy. {sigh} Usually, someone wants me to agree that "they all do it" but they don't all do what the current administration do. I cannot blindly agree to that blanket statement today.

Ok - gotta go for now -- but will you post that article here? Please? Thanks, if so!

Millie
