She's got to take a pay cut, in other words, because she's going back into the military. So she can't earn money from her regular job, and has to sell her house because she can no longer afford it on her military salary.

It does seem unfair that someone earning more than a hundred grand a year should have to go fight in Iraq. That's supposed to be for the poor, not for people who tax cuts are aimed at.

And $100,000 divided by a year is about 2 grand a week, not $5,500.
