It is important to note the American ship was lightly armed and in international waters under surviellance by the Israelis for hours before the murderous attack.It is also purported that Israel had excuted as many as 300 Egyptian POW'S in the coastal town of El Arish,A war crime as was the attack on Liberty,which killed 34 US seamen and wounded another 171.
