consider this-dicontinue ALL refined sugar (yes maple syrup, etc) and ALL refined grain except sprouted grain products and up your exercise intensity to include compound weight bearing exercises. I just got an AMAZING dvd from Jari Love called "ripped" and she has others as well. You might want to do a search for her. She's in canada. I've been vegan and working out for 9 1/2 weeks now and have already lost 23 pounds, but with this dvd, the FAT loss is really increasing...I'm pretty amazed. The key is WHOLE FOODS vegan (or low fat animal products if you use them) and NO refined sugar or grain (when insulin levels up fat storage goes up). check it out!!
