Hi Andrea, I am a breastfeeding mama of three who has been vegetarian for a little over 10 years. You can get adequate protein without beans. Simply eliminate all "junk" food and eat veggies and fruit in large quantities, along with some whole grains. However, you might enjoy beans if you had them prepared in appetizing ways. Or maybe you just need to experiment with different kinds of beans. What about split peas or red lentils? What about blending beans into a creamy base for a soup? Good luck! marjorie
