I had my IUD inserted in May 2006 after my 3rd child.
It did not hurt during insertion but the cramping afterwards was pretty intense. I would have never imagined that my periods were going to be so HEAVY!!!!
My periods last 7-10 days and I feel like I have to wear a diaper the whole time. I wish i would have gotten the Mirena IUD, my sister in law's periods are only 1-3 days and she just wear a light pad. I had mine removed a few days ago and it did not hurt. Crap I'd rather be on the pill to lighten my periods.
