I have just recieved the paraguard 2 weeks ago and I have had cramps like crazy and I have been bleeding like crazy. The only reason I decided to get it was because I did not like depoprovera ( a hormone shot that prevents pregnancy) because I felt that it changed my mood. However if I was 18 and I decided to get birth control I would first try the depo shot. A lot of my friends have been on it for years and it works fine for them.
