Pretty comprehensive post, and very good. I guess people are thinking that a vegan diet is scary because it eliminates so many of the foods they have grown up with, but I can say after being vegan for eight years -- you have me beat by a long shot -- I have found so much variety and fun in a vegan diet, so much more than the old way. And I have also found that there is a great, delicious way to make almost anything you can think of and make it vegan. The progesterone creams seem to work for me, and I really think this vegan diet has helped me sail this far through this phase of life without problems. Just as a side note, I am a picture framer. A couple of months ago I framed a picture of a 50 year old woman who died suddenly of a stroke -- she was having problems with menopause and her doctor put her on birth control pills to control the symptoms -- eight days later she had a massive stroke and died. Such a tragedy, natural ways of dealing with especially what is a normal transition in a woman's life -- are so much gentler and better. |
