Hi there,

I chose this method of birth control almost two years ago because I wanted something that would work immediately against pregnancy. I have had nothing, but problems. It is common to have an odorless discharge when using an IUD. For months after insertion I would start my period as late as two or three weeks each time. I went through many at home pregnancy tests that would immediately come up negative. The down fall of home pregnancy tests is that they do not pick up tubal pregnancies which are sometimes associated with IUD use. Every one of my periods with the IUD have been extremely heavy, even more than before I became pregnant with my little boy. Well, I got tired of all the drama, and the most recent menstrual activity caused me to have my doctor's assistant to remove this stupid IUD. For I have been bleeding for over three weeks straight. He is also testing for any possible infection that there may be. I'm now choosing to try for pregnancy again for my husband and I, and when I have the next one I want to get my tubes tied.. I would recommend you to consider replacing the IUD with another method if it makes you sick, extremely uncertain and nervous for these past two years have been horrible for me. I'm hoping that this period will finally stop and that I'm okay.
