hi all this board seems pretty quiet, but I thought I'd put this out there in case anyone has any info they can share. I recently had a bone scan done (DXA) and my t-score was -3.53. Apparently anything below -2 is considered osteoporosis and should be treated with prescription medication. I'm 33 (so obviously pre-menopausal). I'm vegan, am 5'6" and 120 lbs. I have 2 small children (3 & 5) whom I breastfed and were both born healthy and full-term. I exercise regularly (run, lift weights, spinning, etc.). I had problems with anorexia in the past for a number of years, and I wonder if that's where the problems originated. Despite the alarmingly low score, I've never broken any bone in my entire life. My dr is concerned that I will in the near future and that as I grow older I'll have a lot of problems b/c of this. It's hard to separate the hype from the fact; I feel healthier than I've felt in a long time but my dr is making me feel like I'm a broken-bone time bomb. Has anyone else been disgnosed as osteoporotic before menopause?? thanks for reading
