if you don't have any insurance, you can go to your local planned parenthood or health clinic. they will usually take you in even if you don't have insurance and they are actually nice places (not dirty or dark from my experience).

if you can't feel the string, it could have been dispelled during your period or some other time where you didn't notice it.
