I just had to do research on companion planting in an organic garden research essay. I learned about plants that can drive away bugs that you don't want. I wonder if a couple of flowerpots might keep the bugs away. I haven't actually tried it, but the author is quite renowned. She was the one that wrote "Carrots love Tomatoes". According to her chart, Basil & Rose Geranium are what scares off flies and mosqitoes. Apparently they don't like the smell if you crush the leaves andd the plant oil leaks out.
