I went in for another reason and my OB couldn't see the string. After an ultrasound found the paraguard IUD in the cervical canal rather than the uterus I had to have it removed. The string had gotten wrapped around the IUD so there was no way the OB would have gotten just the string out. Hurt alot getting it out but I was fine within 15 minutes. Now I have to have another one inserted.
