In my opinion eating cheap junk food is definitely not the answer. Not only are you not going to lose weight but you are also going to feel terrible. Further down the line you will inevitably get sick and this will cost you even more money to rectify - it's a slippery slope and vicious circle. I advise you to check out Dr. Doug Graham's website - FoodnSport.com - there is a wealth of information on there. Go through all the articles on the blog and all the FAQ. The bottom line is eat mostly fresh ripe fruits in season (in season fruits are generally cheaper) and supplement that with greens, vegetables and a very small amount of the expensive nuts, seeds, and avocados. He recommends mono eating - one food at a time - which is better still as you can buy in bulk from co-ops etc. It's working for me and doesn't cost that much - you don't need all the oils, condiments, spices that generally cost the most money - just keep it simple.
