Hi, My grandpa has been on every drug there is for his cholesterol. Of course, he was raised on a dairy farm, and drinks 3+ glasses of milk a day + meat with at least 2 of his daily meals, cheese, fried foods, etc... my grandma is a "Southern" cook, and will not cook any other way, soooooo I told him to take flax seed meal with his breakfast every morning. He did that for a month without telling his doctor. He is always "getting in trouble" for his sky high cholesterol. When he was checked out after 1 month on FSM, his cholesterol went from dangerously high to slightly above normal. (He told me the actual points, but I can't remember, ha.) He takes 1 TBS every day in his morning oatmeal. You cannot taste it. It also has vegetarian Omega 3 fatty acids... it is really good for you. You can also substitute it for some of the flour or eggs in recipes to keep them Vegan.
It is pretty cheap... about $3 a bag (Bob's Red Mill). We eat it everyday in our house. :)
