I think what you say about overdosing makes sense and should
give us all comfort that we will not have overdosing problems with
vegetables. There just are no known instances of anyone
overdosing on vegetables. Supplements - yes; but vegetables - no.

But that doesn't let Fuhrman entirely off the hot seat. What about
saturation? Let's assume that for every nutrient there is a point at
which our bodies will be saturated and not benefit from additional
intake for a while. Any excess at that point just becomes bodily
waste. We don't know what that point is, or even if it exists, but
Fuhrman seems to assume that there is no saturation point and
you should just keep eating the nutrient dense foods whenever you
are hungry. His premise seems to be that there is no limit to how
much you can improve your health. I would expect the "law" of
diminishing returns to kick in somewhere, even with nutritional
intake and health.

As I mentioned, I enjoy and have a greater appreciation for the
level of health I have achieved with the McDougall diet. I am not
convinced that there are any realisticly higher levels of health that I
should be aspiring to achieve. So I am sticking with McDougall.
