I like McDougall's books. The diet is 100x better than the SAD diet and I gleaned a lot of good info from the books, but even when I had read them about 5 years ago (before I read E2L), I had already been reading about the need for way more veggies in the diet. Our food pyramid is off. I like to keep myself with at LEAST 50% of my diet veggies (and fruit). My skin glows, I feel more energetic, and my weight stays off much easier even with added plant fats. I think the high water content of the veggies really helps especially when you have no added fat. I lost weight on McDougall, but I tweaked it after a couple of weeks by adding way more greens and fruits and felt better and lost weight easier even after adding plant fats.
