I'd actually been thinking that vegsource was specifically a vegan-promoting website, as opposed to being a vegetarian one. Am I wrong about this ? Are there any vegetarian medical/weight loss experts around here that haven't totally turned against dairy as being one of the absolute worst things you can possibly eat in terms of your health ?
Awhile back I listened to Dr. McDougall's summary speech from the 2003 Healthy Lifestyle's Conference, and he made a point about the consensus against dairy. He said that once upon a time, there used to be vegetarian doctors and medical experts promoting the use of dairy products, but these days, with what we now know, that is no longer the case, and in fact, there is a complete consensus that dairy products should be avoided if we want to preserve our health.

Zgirl, please understand that I'm not saying any of the above to pick on you in any way, its just that you were asking about what sort of a place you'd popped into, and I was under the impression that this was a vegan website rather than a vegetarian one in terms of the philosophy that is promoted here. Either way, it doesn't mean you have to be a vegan or vegetarian to post here, rather it just means that you have some interest in the vegan or vegetarian way of life for one reason or another, whether it is some sort of curiousity, or perhaps because you want to learn more because you are thinking of adopting such a lifestyle either partially or completely.
