"If we eat wrongly, no doctor can cure us; if we eat rightly, no doctor is needed." Dr. Victor G. Rocine, in 1930

The quote came from The Sacred Kitchen by Robin Robertson. The subtitle is "higher-consciousness cooking for health and wholeness". It's a spiritual look at our relationship with food. She discusses various spiritual/sacred traditions; it's not limited to Christianity. There's everything from Native American spiritual traditions to Christianity, Judaism, Muslim, and various Eastern beliefs.

She also discusses the work of Drs. Barnard, McDougall and Ornish. The recipes are vegan but use some oil. To be fair, there's more information about food and spirituality than recipes, but the recipes seem to be good.

I'd seen this in the bookstore over the last few years, but always kept putting it back. After buying several of her other cookbooks, I decided I wanted this one. Naturally, now I had to order it from Amazon.
