I don't see an upside to switching from processed and high meat and dairy diets to a "vegan" diet based on junk food and processed foods. Many people who want to switch to a vegan or high-plant-foot diet do so for the health reasons. There is absolutely no way that a vegan diet high in processed junk like "hotdogs," "burgers," or "margarines" is healthy. If you want to optimize your health, stick with whole plant foods - fruits, vegetables (especially salad leafies and green veggies, cooked and raw), beans, and whole grains. Eat some nuts for omega-3 fatty acids. Steer clear of everything else. I would also steer clear of Whole Foods - it's a non-union outfit, and the anti-union rhetoric that Mackey (the CEO) spouts is just sickening. He's made it clear nobody under his employ will be allowed to organize. Is that where you want your money going? You don't need to shop at Whole Foods for fruits and veggies. Check out farmer's markets for seasonally fresh produce that is grown locally.
