That's so funny, after reading Alex' post. It's kind of like the religion issue, you raise your kids with religion and they turn against it or vica versa. In my case I raised mine mostly SAD and changed later on, all my kids are vegetarian or vegan and surprisingly, so are their significant others. We have a great time cooking together. All I can say is whatever you choose to do, your house is your castle and I know I don't allow meat in my house under any circumstances, friends, people who stay with me know they won't be getting meat in their meals. Having said that, I have a few amazing standbys that I always serve and everybody always loves the food. Like lasagne, you can make awesome lasagne, use a little Daiya cheese along with tofu and greens, etc, I use Newman's spaghetti sauce and it's always a hit. Or soups, you can make some very, very delicious soups vegan that meat eaters will love. Or vegan pizza with pesto and kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, yum yum. You might influence people more than you think with your great cooking, but at the very least you won't be sacrificing your own ethics. Just don't preach at people, just do some good cooking and everything will work out fine.
