Thank you for all your comments I really appreciate it. As an update I want to say that just moments after posting here I emailed this new friend of mine to set up another date to go for a walk. Once I put it out there (all those mixed emotions I was having) I totally was at ease with the situation and the so called 'fear' was gone. I knew it was totally irrational even when I was typing away but I guess I just needed to vent so I could see clearly. I saw her again yesterday, we went for a long walk, and I really enjoyed her company. All is fine.
