Hi Cyn, Thanks for your comments and concern ... it is great to get feedback from fellow vegans,
since I don't have any vegan friends here. Our mindset is so different. I grew up in Texas (where rodeo is a sacred institution) and was exposed to its cruelty
during my youth. I currently live in a western state and being against rodeo here is like
saying you hate America. The marketing opportunity I mentioned would definitely be for the hospital. My boss is the
marketing chief, and everything our department does is driven by advertising and exposure
to raise the bottom line. I myself am not a marketing professional (my background is
community relations) so I tend to be the only dissenting voice. However yesterday my
boss's assistant (without prompting from me!) suggested holding the kids' fair on another
weekend at the rodeo grounds, and using the rodeo itself to advertise the event. I'm still
dismayed the hospital will be partnered with an organization that profits from cruelty to
animals, but it's better than the previous plan, and I hope my boss agrees. Again, thanks for your help, and have a great day! Anne
