Good topic, Cyn!! Here’s my input… **Would you tell me about your favorite vegan resources: books, cookbooks, whatever?** My favorites are all of Jo’s. You will find everything you need for cooking, philosophy, approach, information. Especially the recipes, yummy!! For health information I recommend “The China Study” (T. Colin Campbell), “Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease” (Caldwell Esselstyn), and all of the John McDougall books. **What sort of vegan are you: macrobiotic, raw, etc?** No real category. My two criteria are no animal products at all, and no added oils (this part is recent after reading Esselstyn and finding that oil can actually contribute to raising your cholesterol). After that I strive for whole foods, i.e., as least processed as possible, minimal sugar, and an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables. **How did you come to be a vegan and what keeps you here?** Originally health concerns brought me to a vegetarian diet. From that I evolved to a vegan diet, but by that time ethical reasons had become just as important as the health issues. Those two reasons keep me here as well. After a while all of the other reasons start making sense, too, like less impact on resources, more eco-friendly, etc. Take care,
