Subject: Finding my way, looking for resources

I'd like to ask some questions, and I hope it isn't rude to do so. Even within the category of "vegan" (which seems pretty narrow, at first glance) there are so many different ideas, paths, opinions. One person says "This is the way!" and another says "No! This is the way!" It all gets sort of confusing, especially for a newbie. After quite a bit of internal resistance, I have begun to embrace the idea that eating a vegan diet is my best health option, but *which* vegan diet? I've been eating a raw vegan diet for the past few months: Doug Graham's 80/10/10 diet: lots and lots of fruit, lots of greens, not much of anything else (no grains or beans, nothing that needs to be cooked). I'm thinking that I need to change it up a bit. I miss bread and I miss cooking. So, anyway, if you'd like to share your expertise, I would like to ask the following:

Would you tell me about your favorite vegan resources: books, cookbooks, whatever?

What sort of vegan are you: macrobiotic, raw, etc?

How did you come to be a vegan and what keeps you here?

And anything else you'd like to tell me.
