I've been having smoothies every morning for about a month now. Sometimes I put soy milk (vanilla Silk) in it. Sometimes almond milk (we're trying to use up some aseptic packages I bought), sometimes frozen Silk, which I freeze in ice cube trays.

I've been putting a cup of frozen blueberries in every morning along with whatever other fruit I want. One week it was a cup of pineapple. So that's an acid and a high acid, and I didn't have any problems at all. Except that it's so good, I don't know if I ever want to go back to oatmeal. I bought lots of blueberries from a local farmer last summer and froze them. I'm on my last batch, so I'm going to be looking for something else wonderful.

I also make a cake that uses both soy milk and lemon juice in equal amounts (lots of other liquids) and since I use the same measuring cup I get "strings" of silk, but it doesn't make a problem.

If you're using a lot of oranges, you might already have too much liquid, so try the frozen cubes of soy milk. You will have to wash your ice cube trays out after you pop them out, as it sticks to the sides. I will do several trays and then put the cubes in a container in the freezer to have ready. Same with regular ice cubes.

Best thing about the smoothies for me is I eat less the rest of the day. I also put 1/2 cup almonds in when I first start, so I'm getting almonds, soy, blueberries, banana, and another fruit. I have it with some dry whole grain toast (my dh has discovered the bread machine) and I am set. I truly eat breakfast like a king (queen).
