I was so excited about 5 years ago when the local grocery store started carrying vegan things and I could go shopping in the store "just like a normal person" and go up and down the aisles and pick up Tofutti Cream cheese on one aisle, and organic canned tomatoes on another.

But to have a restaurant like that near by - how blessed you have been!
I hope you find something similar where you are moving. I'm not sure you escape the heat and humidity, but you will have more snow, so you should at least get to find a good restaurant.
