Thanks Jo! I really am delighted and relieved, I was so against going on medication if I could at all avoid it! Since I was already vegan, that part of my diet was okay. The other things I did: 1) Cut wine drinking down from a couple glasses a night to a couple a week (if that). 2) Quit putting sugar in anything (like coffee, tea, hot cereal), and quit eating anything with simple sugars (including maple syrup, brown sugar, agave, rice syrup, etc.) 3) Completely eliminated all added oils. That was tough, because it's amazing where oil lurks. Plus, salad dressings and sauces with oils were a weakness of mine. 4) Completely eliminated all white flour products and processed foods in general (including processed soy products). 5) Minimized nuts, avocados, tofu, and olives. 6) And although this wasn't a constant part of my diet, I had an attraction to restaurant style tortilla chips - those are long gone, along with any other incidental junk food occurrences. I followed the recommendations in Esselstyn's book, basically. And, bonus, I lost 15 pounds - that also made me very happy! :)
