In my holiday journeys, I spent some time at the Spokane airport. Spokane is not that big of a city, so the bookstore there is not very big. One section of best sellers, one section of favorite authors, one each on history & politics, business, inspiration, health & fitness and one on cookbooks. The cookbook section is about 3 feet wide, and from the floor to the top of the display. Among all the Rachel Ray and Oprah or whatever all the hot cookbooks are was VEGANOMICON right at eye level (for marketing purposes the best place!) I was so surprised to see it there. I know I could find it cheaper at other places, and I was already shelling out money for travel etc, but in the interest of supporting whoever was brave enough to put a vegan cookbook in an airport bookstore, I bought it. I realize our numbers are growing, but I was still really surprised. I remember the days (showing my age, I know) when I couldn't even find vegetarian cookbooks, so this is just such a delightful discovery for me.
