Do check out DR. McDougall. I've been a vegan for 22 years and I'm okay.

Part of it is your body/bone structure type. Part is the amount of exercise you get-like walking- that puts stress on your bones and makes them work. Part is diet.

So many vegan products these days have calcium in them, so you'll need to start reading labels more, but we're all pulling for you. You can build it back up. But please don't disregard your doctor. If he/she is willing to listen, perhaps you can educate the MD and then work together to solve your problems.

I firmly believe in natural healing as much as possible, but I also believe that MDs have skills and resources that we don't and after CAREFULLY SEARCHING for one who will honor your lifestyle, work with that doctor for optimum health.
