Mine have receded into the past, and yet recently are returning at unusual moments and truly just flashes, instead of the ongoing trauma they used to be. Maybe you don't notice them when you're ill because you're already at an elevated temperature. But I hadn't ever heard of that before. All I know is that hot flashes were so much better than PMS that I really tried to be grateful instead of complaining, no matter how miserable they made me.
