Well, I am now officially a college student again, 40 years after I first enrolled in the University. There was no such thing as Internet then, but online classes are wonderful. My baby is a first year college student.

It makes for an interesting life, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I can do the work, but had major issues with the CAD software for two weeks, so am behind in class and hate it. (professor is understanding and since lots of students had the same issues, he extended the deadlines for homework).

But my son got to see mom doing her homework in my other class. I took 3 days off work and moved him to college town, registered him for school, looked for housing etc, and every so often would say, no, I have to turn in this assignment, then we can go do whatever. So I guess I was modeling good behavior for a new college kid, who likes to procrastinate.

And I put up almost 100 quarts of peaches (first time I've really canned anything in years)with help from "baby" and husband. Maybe there is something to the benefits of an empty nest. I seem to be a bit re-energized.
