I haven't found henna to be too good for covering gray, and although I'm not averse to having a certain amount of grey do color my hair every eight weeks or so. Call it vanity or whatever. But I don't like chemicals on my scalp so what I do is have her highlight rather than cover completely. The dye doesn't touch my scalp hardly at all but I still get to have super color. Aveda haircoloring, as far as I know, is not tested on animals and does not contain animal products, but still contains the chemicals. So this is what I do to avoid the chemicals and still be able to cover some of the gray and have more vibrant color.
